Sam tinkered his fingers in the air as if manipulating delicate pieces of a special mechanism. With each piece being considered as valuable as the other, he vowed that only a few minutes allotted the necessary time to determine the correct configuration. The wheels in his mind spawn as the pins and bolts turned. It amazed him how designing such a small object occupied a gigantic portion of the brain. This is no ordinary gadget; this gadget contained a roadmap to the plan of life. A plan that once designed had to be followed. Cautiously, he blinked his eyes. Not even the slightest millimeter of error is allowed. Such a mistake could cost the world everything..... everything (he mumbled to himself).
The tasks seemed impossible as the slightest wind, bump, or change would effect everything. Sam appeared flabbergasted. For a flicker of a second, he doubted himself. This was something he had never done. A perfectionist since birth, he always derived the answers. He is considered one of the most highly specialized Savants that ever existed. There was no way this little gadget would get the best of him. Yet, he considered the number of lives that it would potentially effect and that rattled him just a bit.
"My, My, MMMY," he uttered as he breathed out slowly. His brain began to pound excessively. Putting the puzzle down for a minute would mean taking it apart and starting over again. "I can do this, I know I can," he assured himself. " I never fail." That was the moment when the wait of the world fell upon his shoulders.
